Enjoy a bike ride on the many local trails in Elkader, Elgin, and Clermont.
Canoe, kayak, or tube the Turkey River.
Try out fishing the Mink Creek (stocked with trout) at the Lodge. Grannis Creek Wildlife Management Area and Otter Creek located in Echo Valley State Park are other nearby stocked trout streams. Or head to the Volga River or Turkey River for bass, walleye, or catfish. Volga Lake Recreation Area is also nearby and another pond on Cedar Road just a hop and skip away. Gilbertson Conservation Area is a great spot to take the kids for a hike and fishing for Sunfish.
Take a ride to the quaint village of Elkader, and enjoy a day exploring the unique shops and restaurants. Elkader also offers performances at its renovated 1903 Opera House.
